Hi there is it possible to use a structure like 'abc.xyz.newdomain.com' and 'map' it over the existing (multisite) URL?

In other words can 'site2.maindomain.com' become 'abc.xyz.whatever.com'?
Or 'maindomain.com/site2' become 'abc.xyz.whatever.com'?
