bluefuze on "[Plugin: WordPress MU Domain Mapping] Using GoDaddy for Multisite - how to prepare domain names"

Hi there, I could really use some help.

I'm not a tech, so a lot of your instalation instructions don't make sense to me. I am a designer however, and should be able to perform what's needed with good direction.

I have a site running a WP Multisite installation. We will call this:
widgets.com

In this multisite, I have sub-sites setup using the directory method. 2 for now:
widgets.com/seattle
widgets.com/newyork

What I want to do use use custom domains names to point to each of the subsites... and I have already registered the domains with GoDaddy.

seattlewidgets.com
newyorkwidgets.com

I have installed your plugin and network activated it, and added in the IP of the widgets.com hosting account.

The part that has me massively confused (and apparently the expert I talked to with GoDaddy) is what I need to do with the 2 newly registered domain names. I can't find anything on this.

Are you able to provide specific and exact directions on what to do with everything under my GoDaddy account?

The best I've been able to figure on my own (and I could definitely be wrong), is the following (from main account overview page):
- Go to Domains
- Find newly registered domain name, say seattlewidgets.com and click on "Manage DNS"
- Go to "DNS Zone File" tab
- in A Record area, click "edit"
- in the "Points to" field, enter the IP address of the main hosting account where multisite is installed
- Save/Finish

Then after that's done, I would go into your domain mapping settings in the subsite, and add that new domain name in there

Do I have this right? Please help!

Thanks
Doug
