OK, I answered my own question... I will try it again with deleting the plugin altogether. I believe I have tried that once but the domain I was trying to map was still accessible. Here's a better way to look at it.
the root domain is columbiavalley.ssneumann.com
I have 2 mappings set up through the plugin and the only thing that is checked is item 3 on the settings.
the 2 mappings are to columbiavalley.com and to invermere.com.
It doesn't seem to matter which one I set as the primary, invermere.com just redirects to columbiavalley.com. The only good thing about this is that columbiavalley.ssneumann.com also redirects to columbiavalley.com.
As soon as I select option 5 to disable primary domain check it makes the 2 mapped domains operate independently - but - the columbiavalley.ssneumann.com is also accessible.
So, either I'm doing something wrong with the plugin, it doesn't work properly for what I need, or maybe there's something else I can do.
I will look into ver 4.4 docs to see how their mapping works.
